Last week, Mary I had to make a 5 hour drive home on heatwave Monday, and let me tell you – it was NUTS! My car, Sarge, does not do AC, so I had all the windows rolled down and lots of water, but alas, once the car reached a whopping 98 degrees (not the boy-band, you charmingly boy crazy reader…the temperature!!), we started to actually overheat. What to do? We had already taken a safety ocean break and jumped into the cool sea an hour into the trip, but now we had three hours to go and had run out of oceans on the way.
Well, just in case you find yourself in a similar situation (and I very much hope you do not find yourself in a car under the sun that is slowly and tenderly cooking you), we stopped at a fantastic convenience store and bought bags of ice and bottles of water. We happily drove home with ice tucked in our hair and shirts and laps while occasionally drizzling water on our now safe heads and made it home in one un-melted piece. I learned about sun cooking, and gained a newly profound appreciation for highway convenience stores!!
Is this relevant to music-making…not sure, but in the meantime I am working on the next two EPs…stay tuned 😀
